Getting Started in the Classroom

Now that you’ve been inside Google Classroom it’s time to start learning! For more information on the training options, see my first post.

Many of you have started completing the self-paced modules and I’ve already modified a few based on the feedback you gave me! Keep it coming!

The next open lab is Wednesday, April 13 from 3:30 – 5:00 in Room 48 at MJHS.  There are no set agendas. For the next three weeks, I’ll go over the basics of Google Classroom at the beginning of each session and then give attendees time to work individually with Google Classroom as I assist. Starting Thursday, April 28, it will be open lab time to work on your Google Classroom skills and assignments with others to collaborate and problem solve. The dates are listed on the side of this blog. Dates can also be viewed on your Google Calendar after you have signed up for the MCS PD Portal Google Classroom. If you’d like to work with me one on one, please schedule an appointment using this link:

Google One On One Session Scheduler

This will take you a website where you can see the times I’ve blocked off in my calendar for one on one sessions. These sessions are blocked off in one-hour increments. However, every school has a different schedule for preps and specials.  In order to let me know what time I need to come to you, please do the following:

Google Calendar Schedule

  1. Click on the time block that is closest to your special or prep time.
  2. In the description box, please let me know the exact times for the meeting. You can also give me any other information I may need in the description box.
  3. Click Save.

This will save the appointment on your Google Calendar and on mine.

I’ve also made a direct link to this blog available in the managed bookmarks in Google Chrome. If you are signed into Chrome, you should see the madison.k12.in.us Bookmarks folder in your bookmarks bar. These are links to resources we use frequently at MCS. The MCS PD Portal has been added. If you don’t see the madison.k12.in.us bookmark folder, click here for instructions on how to sign into Chrome.

As always, if you have questions, please let me know. Have a great weekend!
